Meet Dr Stephen Black
My name is Stephen Black D.C. I am originally from Curwensville Pennsylvania where I attended Curwensville High School. I was a wrestler and football player. Once I graduated high school in 1992 I went to Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia on a wrestling scholarship. After 2 years of wrestling the program was given a Title 9. I was fine with this because I had developed an interest in Chiropractic. I was also fine with this because college athletics take a huge toll on your study time. My Liberty on campus chiropractor had inspired me to look at Life University in marietta Georgia. I called Life University from his office as he had their 1800 number. Within a 2 week period I had sent my transcripts and was accepted to Life University. This was a dream I had never known to dream. I never realized at the time where this would take me. It was a great time to learn and discover other talents other than wrestling. Once in school I continued the undergraduate program to finish pre-requisite classes. Then once undergrad pre-requisite classes were finished I began the graduate Doctorate of Chiropractic program. In 2004 I graduated from Life University. I finished my boards a year or so later. Then I started practicing in Pennsylvania for a few years south of Pittsburgh and again in Southeastern Pennsylvania. I then took a job in Georgia to learn more adjusting skills. Finally I got a job in Woodbridge Virginia for 11 years. I needed to pick up more skills so I started working part time for 2-3 other practices in Virginia and Delaware that have added up to full time. I have been working nearly 20 years as a Chiropractor. I got married to my beautiful Vietnamese wife in 2009 and we enjoy time together when I'm not working. Hobbies include the beach. The ocean is not only full of life but sometimes feels almost alive itself. I definitely have a connection to the water. My wife and I also enjoy going out to sing Karaoke. I am also interested in nutrition and vitamins. Fruits and Vegetables and vitamins are key to helping to reduce inflammation. Inflammation is what chiropractors battle while working on patient's. Inflammation consists of Cortisol, Fibrotic tissue, and Collagenase that cause pain and discomfort. I will teach you how to control this as I treat you with adjustments and therapies. Thank you for being interested in reading my Bio.
